First giveaway!

I've always loved blog giveaways, but never had a good excuse to do one.  Now, as we go through our (too many) belongings with the goal of keeping only those things we need or love, we are finding we have duplicates of some items that we no longer need.  We have TWO copies of this book to give away!

This book was a great encouragement to me when we first adopted!  We didn't know anyone else who was pursuing the adoption journey the way we were -- with the goal of growing a mutually beneficial relationship with our daughter's first family.  This book  really encouraged us and 'normalized' our adoption journey -- for us AND for our daughter's birth mom -- so I purchased a few extra copies and loaned them out to family and friends who were interested in understanding our adoption journey better.  Now that we no longer need the extra copies, I'd love for them to go to new homes, to encourage and help other waiting or adoptive families, or for a birth family considering or participating in an open adoption.

If you'd like to read more about the book, check out reviews here.

You can enter the giveaway two different ways.  One entry for each of the below:  (please leave separate comments for each of these)
1. Leave me a comment.  (If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to hear where you are in your adoption journey and why you are interested in the book. :)
2. Become a follower of our blog (or let me know you are already a follower).

We'll draw for two winners on Friday at lunchtime.  The kids can't wait to help draw the names! :)

Oh I need another copy - I gave mine away to a friend and haven't ordered another one :). You know our adoption journey, but in case you forgot :), we have adopted 3 kiddos at birth through private agencies (all open adoptions), have one foster toddler and our first bio kid on the way.

Thanks Kiara!

We have an open adoption with our oldest son's family who was adopted through foster care but we knew the family before we got him.

Our youngest is adopted from Guatemala and we have had a social worker find his family. They are very poor and we don't have a way to communicate with them often but we do get letters and photos to them by others when we can.

We are matched with an expectant mom who is due in February and we are hoping for an open adoption with her.

I have two children adopted from the fostercare system. I am striving to maintain an open adoption and to have communative (open) with my two. I also building a library of resources to help us and others in our adoption community. The book seems like an essential to accomplish this.

We are in the process of trying to match with a new birth mom. Our first match ended when the mom lost her child (at 20 weeks). We've been going through this process for a few years and hope to finally meet our child and experience an open adoption soon!!

I have two children adopted as infants and am in the process of adopting a baby born two weeks ago. With this newest adoption looking to be more open than our previous adoptions, this book is of interest to me.

We are the Stever Family and are completing our home study nex week so that we may adopt a child with special needs domestically! We are so excited and so interested in an open adoption. We began this journey a year ago in hopes of adopting from the Ukraine. However, becasue our children at home are young (4, 2, 1), travel time was not a good option. Our hearts have been burdened and we feel that God has called us to step out on faith from our comfort zone and our family of 5 biological daughters to adopt a special child or two or three! This book could only help us on our journey! I am happy to be following your journey as well and glad that I happened upon your blog from another family blog that is a favorite of mine. Blessings to you and your family and we look forward to following along with your family. Please pray for us also!
