A tribute to my (Andy's) parents who are celebrating
their 40th anniversary this year:
their 40th anniversary this year:
Wedding day - February 13, 1970...
(sweet handlebars, Dad!)
...and then came kids...
(Andy, Heather, and Jesse to start)
...and along with the 70's came the changing hairstyles...
(and gold curtains too)
...favorite family pastime, Sunday afternoon hikes in the hills...
(and there's the newest addition, Phil)
...and finally, last but not least, Amy...
(and there, pictured prominently, is another family favorite -
Ritz crackers and cheese)
Over the years, some things have changed - the gold curtains have been replaced, Sunday afternoon hikes have changed to Sunday afternoon naps, and the hair is not quite so long anymore. But some things are still the same - I'm pretty sure there are still Ritz crackers in the cupboard. And my parents are still in love, and still following the Lord. I'm so thankful for their steadfast love and example of what a marriage based on covenant love is, and hope and pray they continue to celebrate many more years together.
...and now that you've put in all that hard work with us five kids,
you get to relax and enjoy a quiet house again...
except when the grandkids visit!

Wow - thank you, Andy!
Where did you get all those pictures?
I had a little help - thanks Heather for going through the photo albums, and thanks Phil for scanning them. :)
Yes, thanks to Heather and Phil too
Heather had a hilarious story of how she called first to make sure I wasn't home and then when she got here my car and both trucks were here. She finally found out from Juan what was going on ( we'd gone to the WAP with the sibs in Mary's van)
